Primary bedrooms are a place of refuge and relaxation. They are a space to rest after a long day at work or to hide from the kids. Am I right? For this client, it was all about creating a space that matched the rest of the home... light and bright with plenty of red, white and blue. This is our Modern Americana Bedroom project.
We replaced a dark wood bedroom set light wood nightstands and a distressed gray chest and dresser as well as a linen upholstered bed. The matchy-matchy dark wood bedroom set was a past requisite in Charlotte interior design, but the time has come for it to be over. Matching suites (the bed, dresser and nightstands) for the bedroom are a big design no-no at Brenna Morgan Interiors. You should always mix it up a bit with furnishings in the same room.
This bedroom has tall ceilings and big windows, so it gets plenty of natural light. We were able to dress up the windows with beautiful trimmed linen drapes that matched the bedding. Decorative pillows brought together the entire scheme.
Every bedroom needs a chair. It's a spot to sit and read or lay out your clothes for the next day. This comfy swivel chair doesn't have an overly large footprint, so it fits perfectly tucked into a corner. A large piece of artwork is a decorative detail that no bedroom should be without.
We loved doing this Modern Americana Bedroom! It was a great update and a wonderful use of some good old red, white and blue.
