One Room Challenge - Week 5 or is it 6?

Oh My Goodness! I can't believe it is week 6 already! Where does the time go? Choosing to do this One Room Challenge in real time was a crazy idea! I know that many people participating do it a bit in advance so that they know everything will turn out OK and so that they have beautiful photos, ect. However, I wanted to show the down and dirty of interior design... even the mistakes, mishaps and surprises.

The truth of the matter is, it takes longer than 6 weeks to do a very well designed room, if you aren't a DIYer. It can take months! But what would be the fun in that! We need a little push and 6 weeks after a worldwide pandemic is definitely more like a shove.... but it's been a great challenge.

This week I panted my pool table. My furry friends decided they wanted to be part of the action. Thank goodness I was painting the pool table black and both my pups are dark in color! Don't have to worry about them painting themselves... it blends in!

Clearly, it was too much for Toby to handle.

There were lots of little details and nooks and crannies to fill in on this old lady. But I got it done.

This new furniture paint by Valspar (available at Lowes) is amazing! It has a longer drying time so all of the brush strokes smooth out. It also has a really beautiful shine. I highly recommend it!

Doesn't it look so much better in black?! I love it! I actually like the brown leather pockets against the black too. Something about shiny black and brown leather.....

This weekend we will be tackling curtain rods and clutter..... drywall repair is happening on Tuesday. Cabinetry installation is Thursday. Counter top templating is Friday. Cross your fingers that all of this gets done!!!

It's going to be a photo finish folks!
