One Room Challenge - Week 2

It's week 2 of the One Room Challenge! I'm not gonna lie... this week has been all about getting things delivered and tracking down contractors to get started. Next week is going to be big! I promise.

But I'll just share with you a bit about what has arrived! I received my wallpaper mural from Poland. Isn't it a beauty?? I love that it looks like someone painted it.

I have also taken down the drapes and patched the holes in the wall. The pictures too.

Wallpaper goes up on Wednesday. It's funny what you discover when you take things down in a room.... I completely forgot that I strategically placed a piece of art to cover this.... Probably good that I "remembered" before the electrician comes!

My light fixtures for the TV room and bourbon bar have arrived. Many thanks to Hudson Valley Lighting for their partnership on this. I use Hudson Valley often for my design work and my clients always love their products. I am super excited to have their items in my room! They are staying safely in their boxes until the electrician arrives the first week in June.

The rug has also arrived. I haven't unrolled it yet because of all of the work that is going to be done soon. I don't want it to get damaged. But I recently put it in a client's home in a different color and it is fabulous!

Bookshelves and cabinets have been cleared out so that demo can begin on Monday. That's right.... demo on Monday! I am so excited! I can't wait to get that ugly stuff out of my room! Then the bourbon bar can really take shape.

The faucet for the bar has arrived. We already have plumbing in there so thankfully can save on the cost of having to run water to it!

This is the part where I tell my clients that it's going to get worse before it gets better. Just a few weeks of living in a work zone as it all comes together. So I'll have to remind myself of that. Doing projects like this is always good to remind me what my clients go through in order to better serve them. There's nothing like walking in their shoes for a while....

See you next week!
