Coastal Casual Gets An Update

Have you seen my Coastal Casual project? (If not, you can find it here.) I completed it a couple of years ago. It was a townhome in South Charlotte and the owners had a condo at the beach. They wanted their Charlotte home to feel like a beach escape too. So we transformed it with soft white and spa blue.... it looked like it belonged by the ocean.

Fast forward to the 2020 pandemic and these folks decided that they wanted to live permanently at the beach. They sold both their Charlotte townhome and their beach condo and purchased a beautiful home right on the ocean near Carolina Beach. As luck would have it, all of their furnishings that we chose for the Charlotte townhome fit perfectly in their new beach front home! The client said that it was almost like they belonged there all along!

They had one extra room with no furnishings in it and they called me to assist with designing it. I was so excited that they did! I loved every minute of working with them the first time so I knew that the second time would be even better! We did everything virtually and the client took copious measurements. We had facetime calls, exchanged lots of emails and received samples in the mail.

We quickly nailed down the plan for their sitting room which had a fireplace and a view of the ocean. It isn't a big room, but it is enough to create a comfortable spot to watch TV, sit by the fire and/or take in the view.

We chose fabulously comfortable swivel chairs so you can take in any view you choose and paired it with a natural woven coffee table for allll the beach vibes. A little pop of coral pink added some visual interest to the room.

You can see how beautifully the existing furnishings fit into the home and now there is an extra room, designed specifically for their new home.

Living at the beach is a dream come true for these clients and it could not happen to better people! I was thrilled and honored that they trusted me with their home a second time.
