It's getting close to fresh tomato season! I love fresh from the garden vegetables, but tomatoes have to be one of my favorites! They have a flavor that can't be found during the winter months; sweet and juicy and just perfect as a refreshing summer staple. I don't usually cook them, but rather let them be in their natural state or just warmed up a little bit. Here are my 10 ways to enjoy fresh tomatoes this summer.
Sliced Heirloom Tomatoes with Olive Tapenade (check out the recipe on my Instagram!)
2. Caprese Salad
4. Classic Tomato Sandwich
5. Heirloom Tomato Tart 6. Sliced Tomatoes with Proscuitto and Buratta (I posted about that over at Domestic Charm)
7. Fresh Bruschetta
8. Tomato and Avocado Salsa
10. All By Themselves! with just a little salt and pepper and fresh herbs....
The flowers on my tomato plants are just starting to turn and those tomatoes will be ready for picking in just a few short weeks! Along with my fresh herbs from the garden, I plan to serve them at my first dinner party! If you aren't growing them in your own garden, pick some up at your local farm stand. And let me know your favorite way to eat fresh tomatoes! I'd love to hear from you!
